Want to go to therapy sessions for anxiety

Liababy, you are not alone in this, and I am here to tell you that there is hope for the future. I know that it is so horrible to be in the midst of anxiety, lonliness, and despair-I've been there. I urge you to get help. There is an online therapy course called Moodgym. It has helped many people. Also when I was in between therapy sessions, I found lots of great info from library books on anxiety and panic. You may also qualify for public assistance, or look into therapists who offer payments on a sliding scale for those who can't afford much. You will find much support here, I'm sure more help and advice is on the way-until then, know that you are strong and able to get through this-you made a first step by coming here-well done!

Anxiety takes time to work through. I know it's tough, so please try to be patient. Learn what you can on your own about anxiety in general as well as social anxiety specifically. That can help you until you're able to get to counseling. I've found reading books helpful if for no other reason just to hear how someone else is struggling in a way similar to myself, which makes you feel less alone.

Have you ever had a panic attack? It took me a long time to realize this but panic attacks and anxiety are not the same thing. While they often go together they are different and may require a different approach for treatment. I also usually suggest that people journal their thoughts. While I personally have a therapist, I only go once a week and frequently feel guilty about sharing my problems with others the rest of the time. Writing down your thoughts, worries, and feelings is a useful way to "get them out of your system" even if you don't have anybody around that's able and willing to listen.

Also look into some free or discounted services in your area like Scaredy Cat already mentioned. Look online for county and/or state programs. Even a local place of worship or college may be able to offer some suggestions specific to where you live. Also in the meantime watch what you do and even eat. Try to avoid things that can add to your anxiety like sugar and caffeine. Try to take things one day at a time and remember that even if you take one tiny step each day they will add up over time.
