I have both, however, mine do not seem connected. I have read of other feeling a strong connection.
Kindly,

I have been dealing with it lately, it was really bad at the start. It's gotten better over time, I've noticed a pattern with certain foods I eat so I try to keep it under control with my diet. ALthough when I'm really anxious I'll binge eat like a retard and totally screw up the IBS lol. But yea, you're not alone with this I think a LOT of people have both if they have anxiety.

I think I may have some IBS, but then again my troubles are pretty minor and could be the result of not having a gall bladder. It usually flares up when I haven't eaten for a long time and then eat a meal. Being anxious will make that time worse and there's no doubt about
it. So if what I experience is anything like IBS then I would say, yeah, anxiety affects it.
There are lots of nerves in the stomach and digestive system. A gastroenterologist once told me it was like a second brain, and it could absorb anxiety symptoms. He's actually the doctor who initially diagnosed my anxiety disorder, and his dx was confirmed by other doctors.
