Hi folks - I'm new starting today. Before this year, I've experienced anxiety about 3 times in my life (I'm 56 now). But this year, I've had 3 episodes of it and more closer together. I tried Zoloft, but after a month, it seemed to make my anxiety WORSE - so I got off of it. What seems to help: positive self-talk, breathing and relaxation practice, and most importantly "L Theanine". I was given this by a preventative care doctor (not a prescription, you get it at a health food store). You can google it. It's a supplement (amino acid) that comes from green tea which researchers have found has relaxation properties It puts your mind into an Alpha state (awake/relaxed). Now, I don't go anyway without my bottle of these capsules. Depending how I'm feeling, I'll take one in the AM, one in the PM, but you can take up to 6 a day. No side effects. Very helpful. You should try it and see for yourself.
