Tandospirone - anyone with personal experience?

I was recently reading about a drug related to Buspar. It's called tandospirone. The claims I've read is that 30 - 60 mg of tandospirone has efficacy comparable to that of benzodiazepines. (Ativan, Klonopin, etc.) Since it's related to Buspar, it doesn't carry the risk of dependency or tolerance that a benzodiazepine would.

The suggested dosage is 30 mg a day, taken three times in 10 mg tablets. Dosages as high as 60 mg were said to be extremely effective.

I'm wondering if anyone has ever tried tandospirone, and can vouch for its effects.

Buspirone (brand name Buspar) is a psychoactive drug and pharmaceutical medication of the piperazine and azapirone chemical classes. It is used primarily as an anxiolytic, specifically for generalized anxiety disorder. Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS) gained Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval for buspirone in 1986 for generalized anxiety disorder only.

Tandospirone (Sediel), also known as metanopirone, is an anxiolytic and antidepressant used in China and Japan, where it is marketed by Dainippon Sumitomo Pharma. It is a member of the azapirone and piperazine chemical classes and is closely related to other agents like buspirone and gepirone.
I really cannot answer if this drug is manufactured in the USA but I am sure your pharmacist or physician could advise you.

I've never heard of it, unfortunately, but it would definitely be wonderful if it can do what you've read. Sometimes it is possible to get (legal!) prescriptions from other countries for medications that are not manufactured here. I'm sure that if that's the case, your doctor will know how to go about it.
