No you are not imagining this, these are real symptoms from stress and anxiety! Taking rapid, shallow breaths can cause hypervenitilation, causing the symptoms you mentioned and more!
I'll post some relaxation and breathing exercises for you to practice everyday, and especially during times of stress.
