Hi and welcome to the A/P forum. First off, let me say I am so sorry to hear of your wife's health concern's. I will keep your family in thought and prayer.
I can't completely reassure you regarding your EKG results, only your dr. can do that. I can tell you that I have heard of anxiety causing temporary abnormalities in the results, but can't give you any futher details, it's just something that I once read. I see that you've also posted in the Cardio/Heart forum, so maybe someone there can shine some more light on this for you there.
I can tell you that considering all of the stress that you must be under, anxiety and it's effects are totally understandable. Not only are you dealing with the present troubles of your wife's illness, your mind is most likely projecting into the future, and what that is going to look like for your family.
I'm sure that the sense of responsibility is weighing on you. Of course you would worry about being able to take care of everything, and that is going to make your symptoms seem all the more frightening. Your body and mind are taking on an awful lot at the moment.
Besides working with your regular dr., maybe you should consider looking for someone to talk to about all of this. Anxiety, grief, uncertaintly about the future are things that are unavoidable. You can however, learn some crucial skills and gain tools to help you navigate this difficult time, and those to come.
Also building a network of support will be of the utmost importance. Coming here is a great step, but you will also need help in close proximity. Family, friends, church, community, ect. I know that this seems obvious, but sometimes we try to shoulder it all on our own, and this is the time to reach out.
Follow up with your dr., and while you are there, again, consider asking for a therapy referral if you can. Keep talking with us as well. This is a great site for information, and especially support.
You are doing very well with all that has been asked of you in this challenging time. Keep up the good work, and keep loving your family with all that you have. Again I will keep you all in thought and prayer.
Please let us know how you are doing soon.
Peace and well being,
Scaredy Cat
