i am on amlodipine besylate and just had 3 teeth pulled so they gave me zithromax I read where macrolides and calcium channel blockers are not safe.I already took the zithromax but scared to take blood pressure pill.what do i do the pharmacy is closed and the hospital won't answer my questions

Hi nana, I'm a nurse just checked on my work computer and it said there is no interaction with these two drugs....do you have a poisons hotline where you are? You can ring and ask them, but my search says they are ok together....hope you feel ok dentists are no fun....best wishes shan

Hi again nana, just asked the emergency dr and he said they are fine together, the zithromax is an antibiotic so you don't get an infection from having the teeth pulled...hope this eases your mind a bit...shannon

thank atleast the er where you are at is helpful.I called the pharmacy this morning and he said that it could change the chemical make up of the amlodipine so skip them while I'm taking the zithromax but monitor blood pressure.didn't get no sleep though.went to bed at 2 got up at 7.

sorry too I guess I didn't read the rules first time around good.Panic attack went away and I waited to call the pharmacy in the morning
