pregabalin

 hi i have been taking  pregabalin now for the last 5 months, at first i thought it was working , now i dont feel it is doing anything at all does any one have any experience with this drug, i am on so many drugs now i feel like i am just being fobed off with more and more to shut me up, i am sick of this feling and just want it to go away..

Welcome to the forum good to meet you. Sorry to hear you are not having to much joy with the medication roundabout. I take Lyrica (Pregabalin) for treatment of my GAD, I take 400mg a day and have found it to be an ok medication.

Lyrica is an anticonvulsant and has only recently (Last year) been approved within the EU for the treatment of Generalized Anxiety Disorder. I also take it along with other medications and have tried all sorts of different medication to help with my anxiety/depression.

Remember medication will only treat the symptoms of anxiety/depression but are good to use as a platform along with talking therapies such as CBT which can help you to identify the root cause and then give you ways and techniques of coping better.

I know Lyrica is also used to treat pain in certain conditions. I was told by my psychiatrist that Lyrica has the same effect as Valium but with out the addictive properties. It only tends to be used if other medications have not had any success as it is a strong medication.
