For those of you taking Effexor XR, I have a question.  I have been on Effexor XR 150 mg for quite some time.  Well, in the U.S. since the generics are now available, that is what my insurance pays for. 

When the Effexor XR was switched to the generic, I got Venlafaxine ER that was manufactured by TEVA, which was an orange capsule - I had no problems, didn't feel any different.  My prescription was close to running out so I had to refill it since I do a 3 month mail order...however, when I got my refill, it was from YET another manufacturer.

The new refill was from a manufacturer called Aurobindo.  They are brown capsules and I have been taking these ones for almost 2 weeks.  Since I have been taking them, I noticed that I feel worse, am achy, tired, crabby, etc. 

Has anyone else taken the Venlafaxine from Aubindo and felt like this??  Do you think maybe there is just a slight molecular difference and my body notices??

Any help, advice or input would be greatly appreciated!

I find that they do that with my generic xanax. My psychologist says you can ask for a certain brand. The one that works best for you. I think it would be a daw script. I have found that different generics work different on me too. They are suppose to be same ingredients, but....

I would talk to your mail order company and see if you can get the one that you got before just to make sure. I hope that your days get better and that it was nothing more than a mood or something. I would hate to see you take something for three months that doesn't work for you. Talk to your prescribing doctor about it and se3e if they will write you the daw script for the brand that works for you.

I was on effexor XR for at least 5-years. My husband takes Venlafaxine ER, and I they definitely were somewhat different. In April I was weaned off of Effexor XR slowly.

Thank you for the responses. Sorry I haven't posted sooner, my computer was down. I went to the doc today and he told me to call my mail order company and get the information I needed for him to call in a new script for the other generic that I did well on. I am hoping this is the problem, because my muscles feel like crap. I will keep you posted and let you know if it was the.medicine. Thanks again
