Hi,
I can relate to your sense of feeling alone. I too have a family and few friends
- if I think about
it maybe one real friend, others I talk with occasionally.
Anyways, I think it's important to have someone to which you can really
talk to. Someone you can relate to, give and take with.
Sometimes, this can be hard to find , that person who can relate to our moods
and thoughts. I have a spouse, and kids but can feel isolated , especially of
late. I know having anxiety can make me feel that I live, in this little scared
world of my own. Many times I feel the people around me don't meet my needs-as unreasonable they might be, since my world is shaded by the unreal
world of anxiety - if you know what I mean.
That notwithstanding, it's important for you (and me) to try and not be isolated. Whether that is talking to the right therapist(find the right one) and meeting new people by joining something that you will meet others with common interests. This might mean stepping out of your comfort zone and will take time. Simply put people need people. I wish you all the best.
Another thought I was going to edit my profile to include my e - mail address.
If you would want to correspond with me but I see this has to be done as
a separate entity, I will do it a later time. If you would like you can leave
your email address and I will respond.
