Hi ameyers, it is easy to jump to the worst conclusion when you have anxiety and scary symptoms:( It is good that you have seen your dr. however, and now you just need to do your best to trust what you've been told, and keep woking on fighting the fearful thoughts.
I like to use a positive mantra when I have symptoms that are bothering me. I repeat to myself "I'm okay, it's only anxiety making me feel this way." or be more specific and really pinpoint your worry..."I am not having a stroke, these are just symptoms of my anxiety."
The words we say to ourselves have power, and it will start to ease your fears after some time.:)
We also have some great links in our Resource Guide that teach breathing exercises. You should use these everyday...often anxiety causes bad breathing habits that can be the culprit behind many symptoms (numbness for sure!)
I hope that you are feeling better soon,
Scaredy Cat
