I've been dealing with anxiety since I was 12 (now about to turn 24). So I know what anxiety normally feels like for me, and I've had a few minor anxiety attacks. However, I have overcome much of it the past few years and only seem to get anxiety under extreme conditions.
This past summer I got mono and was also diagnosed with chronic Lyme disease. I started having this awful chest pain, very dull but harsh across the center of my chest. Whenever it happens I also feel like my throat is swelling and it is hard to breathe and swallow. I thought this was part of the Lyme since the chest pain isn't a symptom of mono. But ever since I got sick (in July) the chest pain still comes around under stress, usually from work, or sometimes if I'm feeling very depressed (which is still stressful). And I didn't notice before that the throat swelling always comes with it. I think I only gave the symptoms separately to my doctor.
My doc thought the chest pain might be costrochondritis. But could that and the throat tightness just be anxiety from stress? Tylenol extra strength seemed to take it away over the summer but I haven't really taken anything for it since, other than antibiotics for the Lyme. What do you guys think?
I've have never experienced this type of chest pain before this summer, and the throat tightness normally only happened when I was really sick. But it has been 4 months :( Could this be a new manifestation of anxiety?
I'm making a doc appointment for next week. I will see what he thinks. But in the meantime I wanted to know if anyone else felt this way with anxiety.
