about a month ago, I asked my GP for some anxiety pills through e-mail. He said yes, and gave me 20 ativan. a month later( yesterday) I asked for some more. I said that I would be seeing a psychiatrist on the 17th. This is the message I got back:
This medication was called into Walgreens Madison Rd for you. Dr xxx wants you to be aware that he will NOT refill this script for you again. You must make these pills last until you are seen by your psychiatrist.
I am offended! Especially that she had to put the not in caps( his nurse responded for him). It is not like , beside the one other time, i have asked for anything. I dont feel like this dr cares about my health at all. The last time I was in his office it went like this. The appointment was for 15 minutes. He comes in, gets on the computer, his cell rings, he answers, and talks to someone named " Ron" talks about his vacation how it was fun, alternates between spanish and english so some i didnt know, then after 10 minutes, says " S**T Ron,i have to go, can you call me tonight at home?" He was on the phone for 10 minutes! I should also mention he was also discussing the patient before me although not names and was looking up her chart and taking about her and writing in it. When he got off of the phone he wrote me a script for paxil and told me to come back in a month. i never went back. It took all I had to not jump off of the exam table when he was on the phone...( he had his back to me)
What would you do? I want to respond and tell him not to worry because I will be looking for a new dr, but all of these messages are a part of my permanent medical record.
He is probably a big part of the reason why I dont get social security. Im starting to feel like I should have called someone about him taking that personal call. What would you have done/ do? Im so discouraged and frustrated!
Sorry for rambling!
