Firstly, hello and welcome, Too_Stressed. I can't imagine how you are dealing with so much loss while in ill health. You, your Mom and Family have my deepest sympathies.
I do not know the answer to your question. We do not live in BC. It would depend on what company you work for and their regulations, to start. Check into WCB, if you have extended health, possible st disability or EI, etc. You never know. Your Dr. will have to fill out a form for you, most likely.
I hadn't had to take stress leave while I worked nor did my Husband. Thankfully, he does get accumulated yearly sick leave and a few days bereavement leave, plus vacation weeks and statutory holidays from his work. He has used each of these when needed.
