Prozac and Lamictal for anxiety

I have been suffering from anxiety for a few years and have tried multiple medications. Currently I am taking Prozac 20 mg daily. I use Ativan to help me fall asleep because I could lie there for up to 2 hours with my mind racing. I also take it as needed for my anxiety attacks during the day. Lately I have been having  an increase in my anxiety and have been very short with my family. I also have been taking extra Ativan because the first dose doesn't always help me fall asleep.  I went to the psychiatrist today and she wants to add Lamictal at bedtime.  I guess I am just looking for some assurance that this is a good thing to try. I also suffer from migraines and have taken topamax in the past but had to stop it due to side effects.

Lamictal is also used to treat bi-polar disorder. I work for an atty and we just settled cases with GlaxoSmithKline (makers of Lamictal) for adverse side effects. Make sure to read labeling...

If it were me, I'd ask about a less serious drug since you are already on Prozac & Ativan... is there not a sleep aid or different routine that could help more than adding another drug? I know many have taken melatonin to sleep and I was on organic lithium for awhile before bed so that my mind didn't race.
