Hello, I am wondering if anyone has experienced spiritual bullying before? I am having problems with particular individuals who are constantly harrasfing me in spiritual form. I don't really know how to fight back. It's more than just spiritual bullying involved, there is also sexual abuse involved in spiritual form (is the best way I can describe it.) I don't know when this will stop or how I can get them to stop and leave me alone. If there is anyone out thete who has experienced this form of harrassment, any form of advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

I am trying to understand this better, are you saying that someone is pushing you toward a certain spiritual belief? Like members of your family or church?

I am sorry I can't offer more help on this, but I am afraid that I don't understand the problem as well as I should before I can relate and make any suggestions.

From what I am reading, it sounds as though you are saying that there are spirits (ghosts) haunting/harassing you? Is this correct? I'm not quite sure if i'm right, please advise. Fox

Good Morning and welcome to HealingWell.  From my understanding spiritual bulling is when people harass you because of your belief.

I too am a bit confused if this is what you are talking about as you posted "sexual abuse involved in spiritual form".  I am not sure exactly what you are saying however if you would like to share a bit more perhaps we can help with your problems.

Hey all, well, I thought I would clarify some things about why I am being bullied. So forgive me if I have not clarified anything. You see, I joined this "spiritual energy" work shop group back in 2007. In 2009 is when I started experiencing some spiritual things, I believe that a huge door was opened when I joined that group. In 2009-2011 and I am still experiencing these activities. Let's see to explain some examples; I hear other people's voices and they haunt me constantly along with the bullying and I even go through torture with them. I try my best to ignore it but ignoring it is just making it worse. I feel as if this is some sort of initiation into being apart of the group. I may be wrong but this is my opinion. I experience all kinds of things, with these people. My mind has been programmed to repeat certain words or phrases etc and I am overwhelmed and sick of everything that has been going on in my life. Anyway I can go on and on about these issues. Is there anything that I can do to "fight back" to take control back in my life? I have tried just about everything again, including being a "born again Christian." I am stuck in the middle of this rut and I cannot get out.
I also wanted to point out that I also have a mental illness called Schizoaffecitve disorder. I was diagnosed in 2011.
I personally and have always felt that this is something spiritual that I am going through. It's just awful.
I guess what I am saying is I refuse to believe that I have a mental illness. Maybe if I believe that it is a mental illness then maybe I can take back some of that power? What do ya'll think?

Well, this is a tough puzzle to try to unravel...I believe that hard to explain situations like this can be from a couple of different sources. I do believe that our minds can lead us to believe we are experiencing things that seem very real...and I also believe that some unexplainable spiritual things happen and do exist in our world!

I think that if I were you, I would consult two people and get their opinions, and then go from there. I would talk to a spiritual advisor such as a clergy or pastor/priest and see what they have to say. I would then consult my doctor/therapist/psychiatrist and let them know all that I had experienced. Be sure and give both professionals all of the information about your background, history, experience with the spritual energy workshop and complete medical history including dx's. This way they can both have an objective look at what is going on.

I am sorry that you are suffering with this. I am sure that it is frightening and disturbing. I am sure that seeking some guidance (both medical and spiritual) will get you some answers, and possibly the treatment/help that you need.

Hi Scaredy Cat, well I have tried both and, my county doctor says I have a mental illness. I have also consulted a spiritual advisor. The spiritual advisor says that I have a past with someone (an old friend of mine, who is the one haunting me to this very day) So I personally believe that this is a spiritual matter. I have always acted and behaved normally wherever I go also, everyone attests that I am normal and that it seems impossible for me to have a mental illness. I have always thought "outside the box" on this matter. This is why when I am battling this whatever this is, I never let myself go, I never let "it" take over me. I am sane as I ever was before this happened. I think I am going to just have to let it go and not be so bothered and consumed about what this thing is that has taken control over my life, I need to just let it go.
It's really hard to do that when, you are searching for answers that you cannot see. I think I need to just let it go and, not call it an illness not call it something spiritual but leave it behind me and move on with my life the best way I know how.

Is there a prayer group at the church you attend? Maybe you could put in a prayer request and have them pray for you. Also, have you been baptised by this church? Usually Christian churches will do a full body immersion to baptise people. The only other thing I can suggest is to speak to your pastor about it and see if he/she will pray over you, to take whatever it is away from you. You can also rebuke it yourself..... Say these words, out loud, each time you have an intrusive thought or hear the voices........"I rebuke you with the blood of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! LEAVE NOW!" Maybe this will help you. I'm not sure how I can help any other way. This is the thing though, you MUST believe what you are saying! If you do not believe, it will not work.


Sorry to anyone who is offended by this post, because of it being religious and all, but I am a Christian myself, and was taught this through the church growing up.

Hello Fox, well I have to say that I have tried everything that you have mentioned in your reply post. I was baptized as a "born again Christian" and that did not work. I have tried everything, literally. I guess what I need to do is just believe in what I am saying, as you said before. I just need to somehow accept this (which has been a really hard process for me.)
I don't know what else I can do accept believe in myself. Thank you Fox :)
