Hello and welcome!
I am sorry to hear of your frightening panic attack. It certainly sounds familiar, as I have had the same symptoms in the past, and it is miserable!
Your question regarding the muscle soreness is interesting. I have heard of this from GAD (generalized anxiety disorder) long term tensing of the muscles can be the cause of this, and I wonder if acute muscle tension from an attack could be at the root of your trouble, or if it is a combination...in other words, you are chronically tense, and then the attack put you over the edge, causing the sudden onset of aches?
In either case, progressive muscle relaxation and breathing exercises may bring relief. We have links to sites that teach them if you would be interested in giving it a try (or at least aquire some new ones, if you already know some) Our Resource Guide is on the main A/P page, 3rd post down. You will find all sorts of other self-help ideas there as well.:)
We also have a great GERD forum if you would like to check in with them regarding your heartbun/chest discomfort/scope questions!
Post with us anytime. We understand and are here to help and listen.
