Anxiety doesn't cause long-term high blood pressure (hypertension). But episodes of anxiety can cause dramatic, temporary spikes in your blood pressure.
If those temporary episodes occur frequently, such as every day, they can cause damage to your blood vessels, heart and kidneys, as can chronic high blood pressure. In addition, when you have anxiety you're more likely to resort to other unhealthy habits that can increase your blood pressure.
I would like to suggest you start to work with your physician re your blood pressure problems. You posted, " My anxiety has gotten so bad that I can't even get an accurate reading at home." Perhaps the readings you are getting at home and at the Drs office are accurate readings so don't take a chance on assuming you do not have a blood pressure problem.
Take care and keep on talking with us here in the forum as we understand anxiety well.
Kindly,
Kitt
