Today was a good day. I made it through a whole 2 hour movie with only the tiniest bit of anxiety! this is a big thing for me. going to the movies is a big trigger for me. being in the dark and feeling confined by the seats and the people around me plus the audio/visual overload really gets to me. I'm really happy with myself today :)

Good for you, bella!!! Yesterday was the first day in the past three weeks I haven't had to take a xanax.....which is pretty amazing since I spent most of the day at my best friends Dad's funeral. I had some mild anxiety but did a lot of prayer and self-talk and was able to work through it. These little victories are so important to recovery. However, I woke up this morning FULL of anxiety...racing heart, racing thoughts etc.....so there you go. :) But, I have settled down.
Keep up the good work!!!

I am really glad to hear that both of you had good days yesterday and successfully made it through some anxious situations!
It is really important for recovery to be able to recall times when we had a positive experience, instead of feeling full of worry, or suffering symptoms. It helps us with positive self-talk for the next situation that we are dealing with.:)
Great job, both of you!

Congratulations on both of your victories! I myself find that going to a movie theater is a HUGE trigger for me, for the same reasons you mentioned. I haven't been to a movie in over a year! I usually wait until it comes out on DVD, and then i'll see it in the comfort of my own home. LOL!
The last few days have been good for me also, I have only had to take a half of a xanax in the AM, when i'd usually take a full one, on Friday and Saturday. Today I did take a full one, because my back was hurting a bit, and it helps to actually relax my muscles, but tonight I will only take a half before bed instead of a whole one, to make up for it. I'm trying to wean myself off of it slowly, and only keep it for those days when the anxiety gets to be a bit much.
Let's try to stay on this positive roll we're on!!!
