I am sorry to hear of your history with anxiety, and the scary circumstances that started the PTSD for you!
Have you never had therapy through all of this? If you have not, then yes, I would definitely recommend it for you! It will help you with the health anxiety and the PTSD that you deal with. CBT in particular is the type if therapy that many of us here have had success stories with.
When you go to your appointment, ask your doctor for a trusted referral to a therapist, psychologist, or psychiatrist. (the advantage of seeing a psychiatrist would be that he could be your prescribing doctor for your anxiety meds.)
It is understandable, the fears that you have...we understand completely, but you should know that there is hope and help is available! I applaud you for reaching out to us here...now take the next step and consider getting further treatment!:)
