Hi, I'm new to this but just wondering if anyone out there is having the same problem. My 21 year old daughter broke up with her boyfriend of 3 years (he did it over the phone). To cut it short she is still absolutely devastated. She is seeing a counsellor but I dont know if this is helping or not. She has a few more weeks to go a Uni (her last year) and has no motivation whatsoever. I have been off work this week and she has only gone in because I have taken her. I dont know what to do to help her. I tell her I love her and all the things a mum should do but she pushes me away. I want her to go to the doctors but she doesnt want to

Hello and welcome to HealingWell. I am so glad you found us.

As a Mom of 4 I have had to watch my children go through this painful experience and each one reacted differently. As a Mom..........just being there and letting my child know that they were loved unconditionally by their Mom and nothing was ever so bad that they could not tell me and I would never turn against them was what I gave to them.

I am glad your daughter is seeing a counsellor and keep on encouraging her to go to school. I know it is hard watching someone you love that is hurting and you want to fix it for her but hopefully under a Drs. care and seeing a counsellor she will heal from this painful experience.

Keeping you and your daughter in my thoughts. I hope you keep talking to us and I look forward to getting to know you better.
