Head rush symptom

I have been having a head rush since 8-2011 and to this day my Doctor my doctor does not know what it is. He has taken a stress test and checking my heart and when I took the heart test my heart went up to 100. I wore a heart montor and my Dr. says all came out well. I have even taken a 24 hour urine test all good.

What is causing these the head rush it's only when I am sitting down or laying down. The Dr. has me on Anxiety medication and up the dose and I still get these ugly systems.

I had 6 yesterday and one this morning.

Any ideas?

Hi and welcome!

I gave your post a title that I think works...feel free to change it if you like.

I am sorry that you are going through this uncomfortable symptom.

A couple of questions to clarify...did this start before or after you started/stopped any medications? In other words, is it possibly a side effect, or withdrawl symptom?

Also, do you experience this when getting up from a prone or seated position? If so, it could simply be a temporary drop in blood pressure, which is fairly common.

If neither of these is the case, then I could venture to guess that it is an anxiety symptom. You have been checked by a doctor (good job!) so there doesn't seem to be a physical reason behind it...the next step would be looking to treat the anxiety.

We have some good self-help ideas in our Anxiety-Panic Resources (main page 2nd post) The breathing exercises in particular may help you if you practice them daily. You may also consider therapy for learning anxiety management techniques.
