Hi Lennon,
I am sorry that you are still dealing with some tough issues in regards to your anxiety. Even after treatment, anxiety is often a chronic problem that has to be managed in an ongoing way.
This is hard to accept, and could be part of the depression that you are experiencing. This is pretty common, and I know that I went through that hopeless feeling...but there is hope. Once you start to think of all of the positives in your life, and weigh them against the anxiety issues, you start to see that it is indeed managable and not so big a problem that you can't overcome it!
Keep working towards you goal of feeling better...you will get there. If you have used self-help techniques, keep them up. If you have been to therapy, go over your material again...or if you have not been (sorry I can't remember) then consider making an appointment...it could be the thing to get you through this rough time.
Making a gratitude list and adding to it as good things happen will go a long way in helping you to feel better. It sounds simple, and it is...but recognizing and meditating on the things in our life that we are thankful for has an amazing theraputic effect!. There has been actual medical research and documentation on this...give it a try.:)
Lastly, sleep deprivation can add to depression and anxiety, so as I am sure you know, you should try to do all you can to get a decent night's rest. Again, I am sorry I can't remember what, if anything, you have tried...but this might be something that you talk to your doctor about...even if you want to go natural, he/she will have some suggestions (Melatonin, Gaba, L-Theanine, ect.)
I am sorry for the response that you received from your friend.:( That is tough, but we are here for you and fully understand what a struggle it is to feel good...even when you really want to, and just can't...we have all been there at one point or another, so keep posting and we will be here to listen and support!
Talk to you soon,
S.C.
