I am on 5mg Lexapro. I began on 10mg but I hated the side effects so went down to 5mg. I will probably try to go off the Lexapro after having been on it for about
6 months. Do you think I am likely to have withdrawal side effects? Or with a small dose and relatively short time on the med, not likely? They don't make a pill lower than 5mg (and it is very small pill to try to cut), but I could use a liquid version to try to taper down, if I thought that would be necessary. What do you think?
By the way, I got lots of warnings from people not to drink alcohol while on Lexapro. But I have a drink or two and do not see any impact. At the beginning, when I drank, it made me feel quite tired and sort of out of it. But not any longer. I am NOT recommending to anyone that they drink alcohol while on antidepressants. But this has been my personal experience. Maybe it is just because I am on such a low dose. (Also, I do not drink a lot -- not more than two drinks a night, and more typically just one).
