Hi Paige:)
A clean house is over rated!!!;p
Seriously though, it sounds as if you are doing the most under rated, yet important job in the world...being a good mother!! Don't discount the enormity of this job and work.:)
Staying at home most of the time does have its drawbacks though. It can lead to loss of motivation and feeling isolated, which can increase social anxiety when you do get out among 'grown-ups' and the real world!
Your son is very young, and being a mom is a huge adjustment. Sometimes you do fall into a 'holding pattern' during the first year or so. If you are still struggling with feelings of not being where you want to be however...here are a few ideas:
*set small, 'do-able' goals daily. Write down a few chores/projects that you can accomplish. I never try to clean my house all in one day, but do it in sections and find it much less overwhelming.
*make exercise fun and practical. Going to the gym may not be something that you can just do easily. Getting moving at home, or around your neighborhood may be a much better idea. Walking, bike riding and home workout DVD's (or video games like Wii fit) are good alternatives, that you can do without carving out a lot of time or effort. Light weighs are also a good choice to add to your cardio...you will burn more energy at rest with more muscle mass!:)
*Get out and socialize when possible. Socializing takes 'practice' for many people with social anxiety. The more you engage with others, the less awkward it becomes.
Remember the important things are that you are taking care of yourself and your family...the rest is all extra. With a little effort to get going...I am sure that it will all fall into place for you.:)
Hugs and high fives!
