Hello and welcome!

I am sorry to hear of your anxiety struggles. It is scary and confusing to experience these symptoms...as they are similar to those that we are always warned about in regards to a cardiac event.

However, you have been given a clean bill of health from your doctor, your EKG was good, and your age (and risks?) are not typical for heart problems...so you can probably start to now focus on anxiety management.

Have you filled your prescription and started your meds? If so, have they made a difference?

Medication is only one option. Therapy and self-help are two other things to consider.

Asking your doctor for a referral to therapy would be a good start. I was helped so very much through CBT. Mindfullness is another good type of therapy that is very effective too.:)

In the meantime, we have a great Resource Guide (main page 1st post) that you should check out. The breathing and relaxation links are excellent and something that you could start today!  They will help to bring down your overall stress levels, and decrease symptoms.
