I have pretty intense anxiety and panic attacks and here lately, it has brought on a fear of swallowing, which makes eating and drinking pretty tough. I am beginning to very slowly do better, mostly because of the Prozac I was recently prescribed. Thing is, I can't swallow pills. So, I've been opening them up and pouring the powder into grape juice, which the pharmacist and many online says is totally fine. But it literally takes me hours to drink this juice with the powder in it. I know it is just a mental thing. I can drink regular water or juice much more quickly...
So, my question is, does anyone have any thoughts on whether I could just take this Prozac under my tongue? That way, no swallowing would be required and I could save myself the medicine anxiety. I know it is all completely irrational, and is something I am working on but until then, this would make it SO much easier. I found an article online from a medical journal saying that they had tested it out with good results for people that had difficulties swallowing or absorbing intestinally as a short term solution. But that was all I found on it.. just one article.
Thanks for any thoughts on this!
