Sorry to hear you are having such a hard time. It is a difficult thing to be going through, especially during the holidays (we are conditioned by everything around us that this SHOULD BE a wonderful time of happiness and perfection, but the reality is, it is just another day of life).
Your feelings of weirdness, of thinking you are dreaming and will wake up - and all that goes along with it - is definitely a form of anxiety. I have had this too and talking about it with a therapist can be very helpful.
As far as your family, perhaps you could just tell them you are very anxious. They may be able to give you comfort, without having to know all the details of your anxiety.
It's great that you have a therapist.
I hope you are able to get through this difficult time with help.
