Lexapro?

Hi

I used to take Lexapro and found it to be a good medication for me but we are all different when it comes to antidepressants and what works well for one person will not work for an other. I would give it a go and see how it goes.

I was on Lexapro for a short time and even increased to the larger dose - it seemed to be working well and I felt it kicked in faster than most of the AD meds do but sadly it always stopped working within weeks.

I hope you do well with Lexapro.  I will share with you that trreating anxiety and depression ( major depression) is ofter harder than dealing with only OCD.  Keep the faith.

I do very well on Effexor but of course each person is different.

Lexapro has been a great medication for my General Anxiety Disorder. I've been taking 5mg for the past 4 years now. My best advice for you is to make sure you learn when the meds work best for you. I found taking the meds mid day work best for me, simply because my stress levels are at their peak. Also Lexapro made me sensitive to the sun. I can't be in the sun for too long. If I know I will be in the sun for long periods I simply don't take my meds the day before. I'm no Doctor but just from my own experience and from my bodies reaction to the meds. The 1st time it happen to me, I was at a water park drinking nothing but caffeinated beverages. Which no one should do while being out in the hot sun for long periods. I was feeling like my skin was dry and my muscles were feeling stiff. My body felt like it was over heated so I started to drown myself in bottled waters and quickly sought medical help. Good thing there was a nurse to help with cold packs . To make a long story short your body over heats quicker, your resistance to heat becomes intolerable. As with with most of us with anxiety we think the worst. I've been in two other situations where I was out in the heat and I started to over heat but luckily I prepared myself to make sure I brought cold water with me , plenty of sun screen and to stay out of the sun and keep cool. To answer your question I'm not too sure of what can exactly happen but I think you can have a heat stroke if your not careful.
