I'm at a loss....could this be anxiety!? I've been dealing with left side head pressure intermittently, left side trapezius tension and left upper arm muscle weakness (since before xmas) and on two occasions now full left side weakness w/o headache or confusion or anything but I fear mini stroke! Can anxiety cause a one sided body weakness temporarily? Ive seen my doc, had an MRI & seen a neurologist all within the past 2 Weeks & have no definite answers. I have an MRA scheduled Thurs. Morning. My symptoms are so very real & scary...could this be anxiety!?

JPE,
Do you know why your doctor has ordered the MRA? Or was this at your request?
Have you consulted a chiropractor? I ask because this could by a compression issue of the nerve...possibly caused by a disc problem, muscle injury/scar tissue, trigger point, ect... In other words, something that a doctor (M.D.) does not always look for...and something that could be fixed with P.T.
Also, have you been checked for GERD? The heart palpitations, along with the upper chest discomfort, and even the muscle weakness can by symptoms...just a thought.
Let us know how the test on Thurs goes...and if you get any answers.
It is frustrating, but you are narrowing the possibilities down, and I am sure that you will find the cause soon...and that it will be just fine.:)
Talk to you soon,
S.C.

Thanks S.C.,
The MRA was more my choice as the neurologist didn't find really necessary but I work for a chiropractor & he actually said the MRA would be a good idea since some symptoms are questionable. If nothing else a piece of mind

Oh jeez, that's right...you mentioned that before that you work for a chiropractor...I am sorry, I have a bit too much going on atm, and my memory is fuzzy!;p
Okay, is the MRA request related to the cyst concern...as is blood vessels and such in the brain area?
I understand wanting to rule everything out...I would want to do the same...but hopefully Thursday's test will reveal that everything is fine.
Have you been checked for silent migraines? Just another thought that occured to me.
I wish that I had more suggestions...but know that you have my support as you seek to find the answers that you need.
Hang in there, and know that we are here to understand and listen.:)

The MRA is due to eyes blacking out so to speak occasionally & somewhat confusion. Could be anxiety @ its worst but I'm terrified!

I am so sorry that you are so scared.:( I know that feeling, and I wish that I could help to reassure you. I am sure that you are going to be allright...but until you get the definitive results...I know how hard it is to deal with the what-if worries and the waiting.
Try to compartmentalize the worry until your test on Thursday. If your mind tries to wander to that thinking tell yourself that:
"It is not time to worry about
that now."
...and distract yourself with something else...preferably something fun and enjoyable.
Everything is going to be fine...you just need to get your answers...and you are taking the right steps to do this. We are here for you, so keep posting!

I am suffering with vertigo today, I am at work but I also had a dream that was completely random... I was at a restaurant ordering food and the cashier told me the total & then someone from the back said something and she changed the total to a higher amount and said it was because there was going to be a medical emergency. SIMPLE dream that was just a dream... but now I am scared something is going to happen and that the dream meant something!! Ugh...this is terrible!

:( Bad dreams are the worst...
However, they are just products of our own subconscious...fears/concerns, experiences, ect...they are not visions or harbingers of things to come.
I am sorry that you are having viertigo. I have dizziness as an anxiety symptom as well, and it is miserable.
I can usually get relief with practicing deep breathing exercises. It reverses the problem, which is most often caused by rapid/shallow breathing (hyperventilation).
I hope that you can get to a more peaceful place and have a better rest of the day!

You rock S.C.!! Your words are so comforting :) Its reassuring coming from someone that has experience with anxiety! Its not that others don't mean well... its just that they really have no idea.
