Has anyone had any experience with sensorimotor psychotherapy?

Two psychiatric mds feel that I would benefit the most from being treated by sensorimotor psychotherapy and cognitive behavioral therapy. I had two events in my life, one as a young child and one as an adult that are considered traumatic events significant enough to cause two separate ptsd reactions resulting in anxiety, panic and depression.
I was ok with the CBT treatment because of all of the empirical research.

I am finding myself very frightened by the sensorimotor psychotherapy. I cannot find any empirical research on this. It is being used by the army on post war vets and there are a lot of small clinics using it.
Has anyone had any experience with it?

I am so tired of being scared and sick.

I do not know much about sensorimotor psy.t. either. I am excited for you that you have a team that it is actively pursuing a treatment plan that they believe will help you though!!

This is a step in the right direction...but of course I understand your concern, and desire to know more about what you are getting into!

Were they not able to give you information on it themselves? I will look into it as well, but I am not sure if I can find anything if you couldn't.

I hope that you can find the answers that you need soon, and get started into what will hopefully be the start of a great healing and recovery.smile

They gave me information but it only seems to come from similar sources. I Could not find any evidence based tests on efficacy.
