Great job on making the decision to limit your consumption! It is a discipline, and one that is not always easy...so you should feel proud of yourself.:)
When you experienced your blackouts, were you on your medication at the time?
I have not heard that blackouts are related to anxiety. I have just heard of them with over consumption in a short period of time...or with people who drink heavily, quit, and start drinking again at the same level. (again, overconsumption/shock to the system!)
If you were on your medications, then it is understandable why you would have such a reaction. A/D meds can exacerbate the effects of alcohol...so essentially, even if you were keeping pace with your companions...you were actually feeling the effects more because of the meds.
Even if you were not on the medication...blackouts are serious, and should be considered a warning...so again, great job on cutting down your drinking, and keep up your resolve!
All the best.:)
