this year is starting off awful. I started if getting s speeding ticket. then caught shoplifting which I should have done. now to make matters worse my mom might have breast cancer :'(. I haven't told her about the shoplifting and I can't tell her now, she's going through enough. well awhile ago she went to get a mammogram. then they asked for another one and an ultrasound because they thought they found something. well today we went to get her results. the doctor touched her breast and said he couldn't feel the lump but the report said she had a shadow. and he wants her to get a biopsy. Im scared that she might have cancer. she is scared and says she feels sad. I don't know what to tell her. I told her that it's not and try to console her.
I don't know if I'm strong enough to see my mom go through this. I know I gave to be but I don't want to go through this. I need strength :(

First of all, don't get ahead of yourself...it is not all that unusual to get a re-check on a mammogram.

Sometimes other things can be mistaken for a tumor. Even if it is a tumor, that does not mean that it is malignant. It could be something as benign as a cyst or a fibroid.

The biopsy will give the only definitive answer...so until you get that result...assume that it is not cancer.

I know that it is really hard not to worry, but to keep you guys sane during the waiting period, you just have to try your hardest to remain calm.

I will keep your mom in my thoughts and prayers. Keep us updated okay?

You are strong enough to be supportive of your mom. People have a way of rising to the occassion.

Hey Jo, it's Larry
We all understand your fears, most of us older folks have had to face different health things and we know that sometimes finding something early is actually a life saver, I have a friend who has beat breast cancer twice the first time she was only 30.
So don't give up too quick on your Mother. Yes you probably need to keep your sins to yourself for now
no need to share the problems, your Mother can't help but worry but you need to stay strong for Her.
"Remember your faith, sometimes it's all we have".
We will all be Praying for your Mother.

E thanks , im just really worried. This month I'd going to be tough. She *** had ti wait for authorization for the biopsy by the insurance. Then make appointment and wait more so roughly like two weeks or more. I'm worried. She's been sad and idkwhat to do.

Try to get her distracted with activities that you can enjoy together. Spend time with her and reassure her that everything is going to be allright.

In other words, be a friend to your mom right now.:)
