Please do not be offended but as someone who really does have heart desease I often wonder why anyone
would smoke? I have never smoked I am from a family rapant with heart problems I also have pad, I have plenty of problems without adding to them by building a fire in my head for pleasure."I know I sound like a jerk"
I want you to do something for yourself, read the other posts here and go back as far as you can stand to read the reason is we all have a problem in common, we are afraid we are going to drop dead from one of our many pains, after you have read sever hundred posts they will start to sound like you wrote them yourself,
ask yourself a question, we only live for a limited number or years do I want to waist them living in fear, really we are one day going to die from something, do you want to die every day? several years ago I came to the conclusion that dying one time would be enought for anyone and I darn sure will not do it every time I have a pain or feel bad, I have a Daughter who was molested by a relative as a child she was destroying her life because she was reliving it every day, I asked her one question, why do you allow that sob to come to you every day and do it again, she never thought of it like that but when we recycle crap we get more crap, fight back its just our own mind and i know its hell to defeat but what choice do we have? anyway she started trying to push back and turn off the thoughts, that was a long time ago, now she has three wonderful kids and a carrier a beautiful 45 year old mother now dont ask me did I get over my anger toward the sob who hurt her because hes dead!
Sometimes there really is justice!
Your friend even though I may not sound like it.
Live long, Love life.

Hi sadowl and welcome.
I am sorry that you are feeling the old fears that have bothered you previously once again.
The good news is that since you conquered the anxiety before, you know that you can do it again! You did a great job previously of practicing healthy habits, which seemed to alleviate you health worries...so why not get back on track with that routine.
You don't have to make huge changes all at once...small steps may help you to feel better. Exercise works in many ways as a stress reducer. It encourages the production of endorphins, as well as burning adrenaline. It will also help you to get that healthy frame of mind back.:)
In addition you can practice breathing and relaxation exercises to lower anxiety. We have instructions for these right on our main page in the Resource Guide.
These are really effective if practiced daily!
If after giving these things a try...if you are still struggling with health worries...I can recommend some books on the subject of health anxiety. Many people become preoccupied with thoughts of illness/dying, and need help getting past these negative and fightening thoughts. There are some really great self-help books that deal specifically with this issue .
Keep posting here with us as well. We are a supporting and understanding group always here to encourage and help.;)
Talk to you soon,
Scaredy Cat
