Hey

so I was in a&e last week and had an ecg which was clear so im not freaking out TOO much but my anxiety is really bad just now and I am demented with the pain in my ribs, back and in my left arm and shoulder, does any one else get really bad arm pain? my palpitations are getting bad again because I am worring about this and the cause me to be more tense! if anyone has had this before please let me know I really don't want to go out to a&e again :( but the pain is quite bad but im also extremely tense

Reading your post, it is shows a prettty clear picture of a cycle of:
anxiety=tense muscles=pain=more anxiety...

Have you tried some progressive muscle relaxation exercises, along with stretching/

If you give this a try for a few days, and if your pain is not getting better, then go ahead and make a regular appointment with your doctor and see if there is another reason besides tension for your discomfort. It could be something out of alignment that could be helped by a chiropractor, or other physical issue that you'll want to address.

I hope that with the muscle relaxation and stretching however, everything will resolve on its own.;)

Listen to the words S.C. wrote above... sounds right on target. I have had similar symptoms myself. I too had an ecg & even wore a cardiac event monitor for 3 weeks (I'm 24 years old) due to the symptoms and a flutter feeling in my throat and everything came back completely normal.

When I am anxious I get super, super tense in my shoulders and it then the tension radiates down the arm(s) and into my neck. Sometimes it will radiate down into my mid back as well. Try to work on relaxation techniques & hopefully you can release some tension and therefore relieve some anxiety. Best of luck to you! :)

Jenna, sorry you are having to deal with this, I have done this so many times it became disgusting to me
I had a spiritual encounter one night in Canada, the bottom line was I got a pretty clear message that God only requires that mankind only be born once and once to die, after that I vowed to not ever allow myself to die every day again. "yes it took practice but now days I refuse to even think about it".
When you feel this way do something to make your muscles move and remember to give yourself a pat on
the back for being good to yourself.
