Hello there,
I woke up this morning feeling extreme nausea. I have been PMSing for the last week and a half.. I have been feeling "spaced out", tired, having heartburn, lightheadedness... the list goes on. I have also been managing my anxiety very well and working EXTREMELY hard at getting a grasp on anxiety and trying to gain a better quality life for myself and my family. I have had anxiety the past 13 years... generally know the typical symtoms.
Since I have been working so hard & having persistent symptoms even after being checked out medically with recent blood tests, brain MRI, cardiac event monitor, neurologist appt, 3 visits to PCP, EKG... the works. I have decided that I am going to get my Mirena IUD taken out (next Friday). I have read online tons of reviews on this synthetic hormone birth control and the wide array of symptoms it causes people. My therapist and I have decided not all my symptoms are anxiety related regardless of all the tests.
I am nervous about the change... but I am also excited to see the change it will make over the next few months. I'm hoping that the symptoms will diminish a bunch. I feel I have a pretty good grasp on my anxiety.. but these symptoms persist and make me anxious. If the symptoms diminish.. so should that anxiety right? I'm so tired of fearing death almost every other minute with these symptoms (thats where my mind goes) & racing thru to get a task done for fear I won't live to complete it.. or fear passing out while driving... or fear I will just stop breathing.. or pass out at work... the list goes on and on. The symptoms appear regardless of anxiety levels.
Does anyone else put a connection between birth control and anxiety and/or symptoms. I will keep updated on progress once I have it out. I will need everyones support.. I know it will take time for my body to adjust to the change in hormones.. as it is constantly having to do right now!
Thanks for reading!!!
