Ok so, I have this event monitor on since Friday and its making my anxiety so much worse. It beeps if I stand up, walk or anything where I move. So after it beeps I spend the next while waiting for either the phone to ring and them telling me to go to the hospital or to drop dead. I know it has certain parameters and its probably just my heartrate increasing but it's about to drive me insane. Anyone have any experience with these?

All my other cardiac testing has been good (ekg's, echo, stress test, blood work). The doctor basically did this because I kept bugging him. Now I kind of wish I hadn't. I have made up my mind though that I'd this shows nothing then I'm done wasting my life on this. mad

Excellent decision about the self torture, a couple other members on here are doing the same thing for
the same reason. You must realize you or I are not the first person with PAD these doctors have seen,
they have a way of making us take their word for our problems.

After my stress test and echo, the doctor and nurse kinda gave me "that look" like *** are you doing here..
when i was in the waiting room i looked around and saw that it was me 44,and the rest of the room was 80 and over.Kinda started to set in that i need to focus more on this anxiety.
I joked with the nurse that if a fight broke out in the waiting room the good news was i could have cleaned house with little effort,haha

I had an event monitor about 2 months ago and wore it for 3 Weeks. I am 24! Imagine how silly I felt in the waiting room with others that could have been my great grandparents..

Anyways...make sure the electrodes are connected well & that the lead wires aren't loose. I had my monitor from an ECardio company & if anything irregular went on that was life threatening, they contact you right away. No worries :-) mine beeped occasionally & even made a fax screeching sound once in a while?? All my results came back normal, sounds or not. If your really bothered by it, contact the phone # on the monitor. They are available 24/7. I called worried about the sounds my monitor made.... ;-)

I've called them and one guy was very helpful. I'm allowed to take it off if I call and tell them. I took it off tonight because my hubby's band is playing a show. Now I'm anxious because its not on and I'm thinking I'm dying again. I hate this. I can't have a good time doing anything. Right now im considering going home to hook back up. Even though I haven't died for the last year that I've been freaking out. My anxiety keeps making me feel like I am.
