Hi everyone. I am currently experiencing a pretty severe attack right now and it usually calms me down when I post on here so here we go! I am super frustrated right now because I know that I am doing this to myself. I am more prone to have attacks when I don't get a lot of sleep the night before. Last night I only got about
5 hours of sleep so I woke up this morning with the mind set that I was going to have an attack today because I didn't get any sleep last night. It's almost like I am so worried about
having one that I like obsess about
it until I have one. Which is why I'm super frustrated with myself right now. I am so thankful that my boyfriend is here with me and he is super understanding and is pretty good at calming me down. Alright end rant, just needed to get this outta my system. Hope you are all doing well!!!!

I already had 6 panic attacks. Two of them were pretty severe. One was just yesterday. My first severe panic attack started last February though I already had one last January but just a mild one, didn't thought it was an attack at first, that was also when anxiety first came into my life. The first severe attack was like "the end of me" feeling. It usually raise my blood pressure as well. My heart rate can reach 150 bpm with each attack. I also get the chest tightness, cold sensation around my chest, feeling I can't breathe, profuse sweating and dizziness (feels like fainting).
So far I'm still alive thank to God! I was totally worried about
suffering from a serious disease from the last three months until I stopped to google and joined this forum! Talking to people here and reading all what they have to say helps me alot. I also lessened myself into thinking of "maybe I have this serious disease" which helps a lot. Whether I'm truly sick or not I will not be consumed by my anxiety. I'll do my best to overcome this and just like Larry said to me, I will not be the first person in history to fail to get well.
Hope we all get better!

Sounds like we get a lot of the same symptoms. It's always reassuring to know I'm not the only one who experiences these feelings. I love google, but I used to google my symptoms too and I thought for sure I was going to die. I steer clear of it when I am having anxiety now! This forum is deffinitly my go-to source when I'm not feeling too hot.

Yea many of us get these symptoms too, I just can't believe at first that anxiety can possibly cause these things to us that's why I ended up thinking the worst. My first concern was my blood pressure because it went up high as 170/117. Thought I already have chronic kidney failure and my anxiety began to develop. Since then weird symptoms showed up which I never had before like sudden flashing stars and flickering dark areas in my vision, head pressure on my right temporal area, sensitive scalp, racing heart beat, neck and legs inner tremors, dilated eyes (which I thought before I have a brain tumor causing it) and so on. When I stopped paying attention to them, they also lessen. Now instead of going to google I go here and it helps me to feel better! And since I haven't seen a doctor yet for a general or executive check-up with MRI's/MRA though I already had some tests done (ECG, CBC, BUN, Creatinine) all were normal. I tell myself
"truly sick or not, I'm going to live my life the best way I can and still be thankful to God each day even if there are bad times." I noticed when I was indulging my anxiety before there were more bad times.
As people say here "Fear and anxiety doesn't exist in the world." We just have to learn to keep telling or reminding ourselves of that!

Lexa, Jojan, you may not realize it but you both are better, In
your case it may be hard for you"all but from here your both
getting your mental hands around the throat of anxiety.
It really does seem to be a process of small things that build
one up and give confidence. I promise you both the day is
coming when you will feel one coming on and will immediately
take mental and physical steps to shut it down, and guess
what no one in the room but you will know what you did but
you. "Hence the secret smile".
