Does anyone on here ever have disturbing thoughts with anxiety? I will have a thought in my head that seem Frightening, and it scares me. I have too much stress today, still fighting a cold and feel like a fruit loop.

Carol, most of us have thoughts that are so disgusting and sinful we want to just pass going to judgment
and jump into hell. I finally told my Priest some of the worst one's, he told me It's just a thought we don't
know how to stop them, just don't act on them, God knows your Heart!

Yes we all have disturbing and scary thoughts with anxiety but Igm is right it is only a thought and we may not be able to stop them all the time but we do know how to act and say to ourselves that it is only a thought and it is not nor will it every be a reality. You are not the only one.

Carol yes I get disturbing thoughts too....I just try to mentally karate chop them as soon as they come and try to focus on something else. It's hard to do, but I try to dismiss them as soon as they come.

As soon as I got feedback from this forum my disturbing thoughts went away. You all really help so much. Just being able to not feel alone really helps! Sometimes I wonder if it's just me!

Carol one of my old anxiety books has a method called "put it into your outer environmental" I will read it again
maybe it means to mentally push it away.

Appreciate it Larry....let me know of your book. I have a good book by Paul David called a life at last that is good too. This back pain really doesn't help the anxiety though. It is acting up again. Getting older!

Hi
Good to meet you and glad you have found this forum you will get good support here. I can relate on this one as one of my main issues is intrusive thoughts & bad paranoia which can often be very disturbing and frightening.
As other have mentioned it does seem to be caused by high levels of anxiety I would go and talk things through with your doctor and take their advice. I take 75mg of Chlorpromazine a day which is an antipsychotic to help with paranoia and intrusive thoughts which helps.
Keep coming here and posting we are here to listen and help were we can.
Take Care

Thanks Hibee if they come back often I will talk to my Dr. I appreciate your help. My anxiety comes and goes, like yesterday I was sick and my husband was stressed about
my daughter being here. She is not a problem to anyone and needs our help. I think conflicts cause stress, life causes stress! My brother is a psychologist and tells me things that help. I really feel with this forum and him I am able to get by without drugs. My Dr said physical activity helps with anxiety, but on days I'm hurting I can't always exercise. Those are the days I think that are the hardest.
