I know a Pyschologist right here in our city who I do not feel is ethical. An acquaintance of mine lost her 24 year old daughter to cancer about 4 weeks ago and her Dr. recommended this psychologist to help my friend deal with her grief. On her first visit to this "Professional" she was told "the first thing you need to do is accept that the devil is causing you to feel so sad and angry" about the death of her daughter. Hogwash! However, this friend did not take the opportunity to talk with someone at the clinic and report this unprofessional advice.
It is truly sad when people who are hurting and need help are taken advantage of. I have been to 5 therapists over the past 31 years and one I felt did me more harm then good and yes, I did report my concerns to the Department Head.
