Sorry to hear about your setback.;(
I don't want to get preachy...because we all have something that we soothe ourselves with when things are tough. For some it is alcohol, for others is can be drugs, food, sex, gambling, shopping, self-harm, ect...the list goes on.
However...and you knew a however was coming...it is a red flag when you 'lose yourself'...and things get out of control, and you can't stop at a couple of drinks.
So with total understanding (my dad struggled with this) and knowing that I have my own, different issues...I say to you as a friend...you should probably get some help.
There are just too many indications from what you described that show that you probably could lean towards having an alcohol problem if you don't rein it in.
Blackouts can be really dangerous, and I don't want to see you get hurt!
A postive thing is that you have a lot of tools to deal with the pressures of work, bills, anxiety, et all...you just have to employ them.
This of course is harder than going to our vices...which is why we so often fail at it...and I speak for us all, we all have something that pulls us into the pit!
So good for you for keeping accountable and airing it, and looking for guidance even though you knew what the response was bound to be.
You are courageous and stronger than most!!
You can do this...keep posting and we will keep encouraging, okay?:)
