Freaking out over medication

Hey all,

I posted yesterday about how I visited the doctor and got prescribed a bunch of allergy medication. One of the things was a throat spray using sulfathiazole and it's been making me nervous because it's been phased out back in North America and now only gets used in some of the less medically advanced parts of the world (where I currently am). I used it anyways because it is what the doctor prescribed, but now I'm freaking out because my throat feels poofy and I read an article online about someone waking up choking in their sleep after using a throat spray.

During my initial visit with this doctor I used this identical drug daily for about a week, and I used it this morning as well without incident. I'm trying to convince myself that if I were in danger of a severe reaction, it would already have shown itself. But I don’t know the science on that kind of thing. Anyways, now I’m upset because I know it will be hard to sleep after thinking about this.

Any tips or reassurance would be nice. ") I’m seriously considering stopping the drug (as it appears to be used for short term treatment anyway).

There are different degrees of allergy, Just my opinion, if you had a sever or dangerous allergy to this
spray you would already been to ER. Why not try warm salt water, I use a 1 teaspoon to 10oz. of scalding
water, stir until it go's clear, then you can use it in a spray or gargle, I also use it to purge my sinuses.
You will get over this but you need to get your head to drain then it can heal.
