PDoc appointment today...

I decided to start another post since the other one was getting so long.

So I went back to the PDoc today, even though I didn't like him last time, but I figured since I didn't have the Porphyria, he would actually attempt to help me today...ha, NOT!

I tried to tell him how bad my panic attacks have gotten in the past week and how I am not wanting to leave my house...it was miserable just getting there having a panic attack, even though my husband took me and I didn't have to drive.

Once again when I tried to tell the PDoc my symptoms, how I was feeling, etc...he SHOOSHED me again...told me to be quiet, stop talking!!! I thought to myself, fine, I will just get through this appointment, he will give me medication and I could find a new PDoc after today.

He would not, and did not give me anything, but 1 mg Xanax 3 times a day...no SSRI. His reason? Because my panic attacks are so bad right now...seriously??! Xanax is short acting and not a long term treatment, ugh...I don't want to get addicted to it. Why wouldn't he listen to me??

I did nothing but call around to other Pdocs all day and FINALLY found one that will get me in on June 10 that takes my insurance!! Now I am panicking because I keep thinking about my panic attacks and fearing they will get worse before I can get to the NEW PDoc...I feel like I am getting nowhere. I get so tired of complaining and venting to everyone and I know they get tired of hearing it...

Hey girl don't worry about addiction now, just take care of yourself, you have enough to get you by until
you see a different doctor, most are pretty good but some are arrogant ---holes, just fire him and get
a good one. It always pays to look up references for doctors if they are not afraid of their patients they
will have one listed. Try to use some of the free resources SC has mentioned.

Go ahead and cry happy tears.  I use Effexor too and actually bumped up to 225mg as my anxiety from all my medical issues were tough and I am doing much better at the 250mg dose.

I would never forget you guys...

So last night I switched back to the Ativan. I felt looser all over my body once it kicked it, ah. The Xanax never allowed me to do that, nor did it ever take the panic away...I fell alseep feeling so much better about everything last night and woke up to minimal anxiety.

This morning, I took an Ativan and started back on the Effexor XR...1 day at a time for me right now. Don't want to jinx myself, but so far so good...and I am keeping my fingers crossed that I can transition back onto the Effexor with minimal side effects!!
