Question and opinion on Effexor XR

Not so yay for me last night and this morning. I have been having some bad panic attacks last night, through the night and this morning.

She wrote me a prescription for 150 mg. I talked to my pharmacist and she said if I had some 75 mg she would take those for a couple of days. I took a 75 mg Effexor XR yesterday at 9 am.

My question is this - do you think that the 75 mg is still too high to start off on? Should I take another 75 mg this morning or do you think I should call my Dr. and see if she can call in 37.5 mg for me to take? These have by far been the worst panic attacks I have had the past few weeks.

Any insight and opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your response. I called my Dr. and she called me back and told me not to take anymore Effexor XR 75 mg. As a matter of fact, she told me not to take anymore at all. She said it seems like I am very sensitive to the medicine and she wants me to go see her on Tuesday and she will give me something else. I am wondering which route we take now. Well, I am not going to stress over it, but it would be nice to find something that works without giving me full-blown panic attacks while starting the SSRI or SNRI. I used to be up to 225 mg of the Exffexor years ago...weird. maybe because my body is totally rid of any SSRI/SNRI??

I will continue to take the Ativan and go see her on Tuesday and go from there.
