Why oh why did I look that up??

So, I have restraint to not look up symptoms, BUT I have yet to learn not looking up drug interactions!!! What is wrong with me??!!! I know better!!!
I went to my postpartum visit today and I pointed out to the doc my left tonsil was swollen. He gave me a z-pack (antibiotic) for it. When my hubby brought it home I googled drug interactions between that and Celexa KNOWING that Celexa interacts with A TON of things!!

I found MAJOR interaction at drugs.com, moderate at webMD, and on some ask a pharmacist site "...it should be fine because u are only taking 20mg. I'd be more worried if u were on 40mg"

Ugh!!!! WHY did I look??? The pharmacist didn't say anything to my hubby about an interaction with the two and Walgreens would flag it if it did. They just told him to tell me no vitamins with the z-pack.

Anyway....just had to call myself out for having a weak moment and looking that up!!! I am proud of myself as I still took the meds.

It is great that you have not looked up symptoms!

However, I would have probably done the same thing in your shoes.

Sometimes checking for interactions can really be a safety net for people.

Doctors are very careful of course when prescribing, but I would have also used this tool 'just to be sure'.

Don't beat yourself up about this...I bet you will hear from others who say they would have done the same thing.:)

I still am a little Leary about taking them together but like I said Walgreens didn't "flag" it so I'm gonna roll with it

Yeah, if it got through your doctor, the pharmacist and two sets of computers, you are fine.:)

If you ever need the reassurance, I've found pharmacists to be pretty helpful with that type of question.

My hubby worries about drug interactions a lot. I've called the pharmacy to ask about ibuprofen, new medicines, even tums. lol We use the same pharmacy for everything, so that helps him feel a bit more secure.

Try not to beat yourself up, I think that's a wise thing to consider when taking new meds. I agree with S.C.'s last reply, though. :)
