I am so worried for my sick cat that my brain isn't working right. Sometimes when I'm really stressed I wonder if I'm losing my mind. My cat has a cat flu and has to be force fed.I am so stressed. My brain is malfunctioning. I'll forget that I did something and do it again..them remember I already did it. Or sometimes just feel like I'm not myself...want to run......I just want to go hide in a cave. I don't handle stress very well. I get sick a lot. Anyone else have these problems?

Carol,

I understand your anxiety rising because of your worry over your cat. You are not losing your mind, however, I hope you have a magic box full of ideas on how to deal with your feelings.

Do check out our resources at the top of this page for some awesome suggestions that have help many of our members.

One that works for me is turning my negative statements into positive statements.

Hi Carol,

Sorry about the way you've been feeling lately. You should try breathing. It helps slow things down and makes you feel calm.
As Kitt said, there are good suggestions and stuffs in the resources area.

I hope you cat feels better and you feel better as well.

Dear Carol, I just got home from a trip, got to sleep a while and go back tomorrow morning, sick Family
I often wonder how we become so attached to our animal friends I think we are not so really different.
They will grieve over us as well. Carol just do your best, and talk to your feline friend, the sound of your
voice will calm the kitty and help, sometimes all we can do is Love!
It would be a privilege to be your pet! Have Peace Carol! Yes I am Praying for You and Yours!

Thanks Larry, I appreciate the kind thoughts. I don't want him to die, and hoping he'll make it. The vet said he thinks he'll live, but it's very stressful force feeding. His tongue is so sore he can't eat or drink. It could be a couple weeks before he heals.the added stress has sort of made me bonkers. Appreciate the prayers.

Oh I am really stressed now..My chihuahua is probably going to be put to sleep. Man this is a load of stress. On a bright note, my cat is better.

Well I took my Chihuahua to the vet, felt very anxious...felt like running.but stayed for my dog.it was difficult to hold him and tell him he was a good boy while the vet put the needle in the leg, pushed the syringe, and withing seconds little pup stopped suffering...it was peaceful..except for my sobbing. How embarrassing. Now I hope I don't have the panic...it always hits me later..after these kinds of things. I've seen death before, and even though this was just my dog, it broke me heart.

My cat is better.

Carol had the same experience with my lab, Her name was Nugget, coal black with several spots of gold.
She could read my mind I sort of rescued her a airline stewardess had her and was gone all the time she ran an add free to good home, she was part of the family. I let her suffer way too long but the animal control ladies came to my house and let me hold her in my arms while they prepared everything, the lady said just nod your head when your are ready, she just sighed and was gone. "I am tearing up and it was 15 years ago". After they were done they were out in the front yard with me a woman in uniform on each side and we were all crying, the neighbors thought my Wife died. Thank You Carol for reminding me of a special Love! I Pray You will be ok! Peace.

I'm so sorry that you're going through this, Carol.

No need to be embarrassed for sobbing. I've cried in the vet's office plenty of times. The vet cried with me once. When you love your pet the way they love you, this process is going to make you cry. Trust me, the vet would rather see someone who cares than someone who doesn't. They aren't doing what they do because they don't love animals. ;)

I'm glad to hear that your cat is better.

I will pray for you tonight, with my hubby. He'll pray for you, too! :)

Thank you so much, both of you. I love labs Larry...our pets give us unconditional love, and they help us. I really miss my dog, but I am feeling better. Thanks for the thoughts and prayers, you guys are the best!

I am sorry you had to have your pet put to sleep but you made it for his sake and that is a good thing.  We often surprise ourselves with how strong we can be when there is no other choice.

I have to ask, who is Larry ? (AS I worked through the posts today I realized I was seeing people talking to Larry but I could not see his posts  yeah   tongue turn   smilewinkgrin . It finally crossed my mind that somehow Larry's posted were being blocked from my view accidentally.   I feel much better now knowing that Carol really was talking to Larry.   hope you are not stressing so much that you are thinking all the posts here are from Larry.  Larry, our member, is a great guy and perhaps he posted and then deleted it.

Beats me.............stay strong and know we are here for you.

Thanks for asking Larry, and I guess I'm ok,but having a rough time. My chihuahua has a bad heart murmur (the father to the one I had to put to sleep last Friday) and I am sitting here listening to him pant. He has heart meds and its one day at a time, no guarantees. I sure have had a hard time lately with the pets! The cat is fine, and I am hoping this last Chihuahua makes it. It's just too much.I'm breathing fast and bet I've been sleep sleep deprived for a couple weeks!!!

Yes, breath in peace.....I know my troubles can be given to Him. The peace comes from being still....I know He will sustain me.

That peace helps, and so does support.

My animals need to stop getting old. Not fair.
