Dear All,
My mother's slowly been developing a phobia for standing and walking. It started with her not being able to walk steadily on non-flat surfaces and climb up and down a flight of stairs. In a little over 8 months she can't stand or walk and even when she has help from 2 or more people, she sweats, get palpitations and start shouting in fear of falling.
She's been tested for several things, and is in the hospital currently. She was previously treated for depression and hypertension (this gave her a few strokes so she's lost the use of her right hand, mostly).
ECG's etc seem OK. There are small lesions in the brain MRI which may explain the loss of mobility in her arm.
She was 'diagnosed' with Parkinsons' but the meds were completely unbearable and made a bad thing worse. Other physicians think her tremor in the right hand etc may be a consequence of strokes, not Parkinsons. This makes the whole thing even more confusing.
She lives with a cousin of hers.
I'm not sure what my question is, but I'd like any advice/ideas.
Thanks!
