Hazard cones on the highway

They're working on the only highway that connects my rural road to surrounding towns! Oh no!

It's at the point where the pavement is different heights in each lane and there are those orange hazard cones sitting between the lanes to keep you from hitting the ridges and wrecking.

Me, driving between hazard cones - Holy Blackout, Batman! That's a hardcore panic attack!

In our area, because of weather, etc., it usually takes about 18 months for them to finish resurfacing a highway.

I'm considering becoming a hermit. I can probably live off of the fish and wildlife on our land, our chicken eggs and our big garden. Yep, that's the ticket. lol

Earlier this year we had huge amonts of roadwork right on our main road...we live on a court, so it was very close to us.

Driving around the cones and work didn't bother me...it was the noise and vibrations made by the big machines!

I could hear and feel the low tone rumblings...the kind that resonate in your chest...and after a couple of hours of that, I could have chewed a bar of iron and spit out rivots, like Popeye.;p

Needless to say, it made me anxious!

I hope that you find a way to get around this problem...one way or another. For me, I had to blast music all day...you may have to really coordinate your commute to save you going out more than necessary.

I can't stand driving between cones or those temporary concrete walls. I've always held my breath between them. Now that I have panic attacks... wow!

I start imagining driving into one of them and the whole cascade of events... before my mind stops I've imagined me and everyone on the road (working & driving) killed by my poor driving! This kinda stuff is why I didn't drive for 6 years.

It's funny kinda that I thought I didn't have anxiety until the panic attacks started. As they say, Denial isn't a river in Egypt...
