Effexor acts like 3 different meds depending on the dose

I saw a dose response curve for Effexor on the internet...which does not mean it is true..but assuming it was true:Effexor acts as an SSRi..that is a Prozac, Paxil, Lexapro etc like med at a very low dose 37.5 mg was about as good as 75 mg..where the curve flattened out

The response stayed flat until about 150mg where it started to work on norepinephrine Did not affect the reuptake of Dopamine til about 300mg daily

This is a good point as to why it is sometimes necessary to try several A/D meds to find the right fit for your individual needs!

Depending on what neurotranmitters are needing a boost...you could benefit more from an SSRI...and somebody else may react well to an SNRI.
