Jst came frm er. Not feelin too convinced. Woke up havin tingling numbness and a feelin of heat in my left arm. Me focusin in on dat caused it to get worse which then made me feel a shot of heat thru my whole body along wit strong heart palps ehich made me feel lite headed. Took everything in me to go to er cuz I really didn't feel like goin and besides I kinda already knew da outcome to these symptoms. NOTHIN WAS WRONG AND EVERYTHING CAME BACK NORMAL and was told to follow up wit my primary doc. Smh only thing dat was different abt dis visit is dat NO blood work was dun. Wat da hell rite? An ekg was dun and my finger was pricked and my urine was checked but no blood work? And dis was a different hospital I went to. Wonderin if I should b concerned and fully belueve dat I'm fine when they didn't even do da proper precautionary test. I hate county hospitals. Anywho now its hours later and I feel da exact same way dat i felt dis mornin minus da lightheadedness. Only thing different is now I feel bloated and am unable to burp. My stomach feels like its needs to release air but I try to burp and it feels like liquid or sumthin is comin up which is makin my burps unsuccessful? Has anyone else had dis prob? If so plz share..I can deal wit da numbness and tingling in my left arm...but dealin wit dat..trapped gas..and strong heart palps r a bit much..I do not need anutha reason to believe dat I'm dyin or will drop dead soon lol plz help!!

Hi Ray,

I am sorry that you had a rough time of it, and ended up at the ER.:(

To be honest, they probably did not do a blood test, because this is more of a thing that is done yearly with your doctor. Once they saw that your vitals were normal, they knew that they were dealing with an anxiety attack...and they were not going to do anything more at this point.

You can ask your doctor to run a CBC if you have not had one this year already. However, you should consider it good news that you were looked at and released...this means that you are healthy and not in immediate danger of anything being wrong with your health.:)

As far as the stomach issues...when we are anxious, our stomachs produce more acid, which in turn, causes gas. Also, we sometimes gulp air without even realizing it...similar to hyperventilation. (or they can go hand in hand.)

When we have pressure and gas pushing up in our stomachs...this can cause us to have palps, or to feel them as more pronounced. The stomach and heart are in close proximity...and more so when we are bloated.

You are going to be fine. Take an antacid/anti-gas med and try to do some calming and distracting activities, or coping mechanisms.

Ray this is Larry, you are going to be ok! Many and I mean many of us on this forum have been right where you are now, some have been to ER 50 times, you must realize that they see people like us several times a day and its not alarming to them, your EKG was the most important thing and that was ok. If you have anything with semethacone in it like gas x or pepto take a good big drink,
when having a panic or anxiety atack we tend to swallow air and we get swelled up. If you have any
benadryl take one or two and go to bed, you will go to sleep! Peace

Thanks sc and larry..I greatly appreciate ur feed back. It has in fact been a ruff month for me. I jst pray dat all my symptoms go away. Y must panic and anxiety attacks mimic more serious conditions. Like I've said before I had heart palps and left arm tinglin for yrs now. But it seems dat afta my first panic attack all of my symptoms have magnified significantly. Its very bothersome and scary. I jst hope dat now since Im medically covered and can attend a follow up appointment my doc can get to da root of my problems and nip it at da bud. Continue to pray for me as I will do da same. Its reassuring to kno dat I have ppl dat understand and can relate as well as speak positively as I go thru dis ruff patch. I truly thank and appreciate everything. U guys are the best!!! :-)

Ray just remember to keep something to fight the gas, I dont know why but being bloated causes anxiety to be worse, in my case it doesnt allow my diaprahm to function probely and I feel I cant breath, once I get rid of the gas the anxiety drops off. Peace

I will keep dat in mind...I drank a tea spoon of apple cidar vinegar with a glass of water took sum tums and walked around I feel 10xs betta today. No heart palps or tingling..hopefully dis continues to b a good day!! :-)
